In the 1930s, Hungarian-born Etienne Aigner celebrated his first successes as a bag designer at the Paris Haute Couture shows. In the 1950s, he presented his own collection in New York. For the first time, this collection had the typical "A" in the shape of a horseshoe - from there it went on to Munich. Here, Etienne Aigner met Heiner H. Rankl, a businessman with an unerring feeling for the future and a sense of tradition. And so, the brand AIGNER was born in Munich in 1965. In 2009, AIGNER presented itself for the first time at Milan Fashion Week.
