thevintageroze Trust me when I tell you that I know how you feel. I lost a brother-in-law to cancer with in 6 months of them finding out he had it. They lived in Toranto. My sister was 40 and he was 43. He left a 13 year old, a 10 year old and a 6 year old. He spoiled my sister to the point that when he past away she was lost. She did not know anything about taking care of the bills etc. She only knew that she was suppose to take care of the house, cook, clean, raise the children etc. I had to go there and teach her how to do the finances etc. She was in total shock for at least 5 months. He never told her he was dying. He did take care of everything for her before he past so that she was set for life. It has been 8 years and she still morns him.

spadoni57 @nkhob So much sadness around us and seemingly so little appreciation by some for the gift of life. What others throw away by poisoning themselves, others want to live so badly. Your sister had your kindness & love thank goodness. No matter the time, age, circumstances.. death is a loss. Amanda now lives in Ontario to be close to her mom & family. Her husband Scott is a radio announcer & blogger and they are both very open about whats happening. A friend ran a marathon for her, her softball team raised money for them to move, she& Gordon were on the Canadian Cancer Society campaign envelopes last year & they both use local media to document their journey. They tried the IP treatments where they implant a port and then a catheter pours chemo directly into her abdomen & they literally swished her around back & forth so the chemo would get into every spot. The chemo some hoe leaked out near the port and damaged the skin so the stopped that treatment. She was in a clinical trial and it was ended because the good drug was actually doing more harm. She found out her leg of the trial was getting the placebo. Right now she is off chemo and taking hormone blockers & trying to be a mother & wife but she is honest in telling us there are days she wants to hide and hates us all. On Sept 5 she will get a message of love and beauty!! I am hopeful!!

spadoni57 @mommy2007 Im giving you a verbal hug!! I need them for Sept 5th!! I can't say how appreciative I am. I tried to do it by myself but I realized I can't. I bought $1000 in teal dresses, shies, bags to host a fashion show in Canada but life got in the way. I knew there had to be a way other than giving up or showing her 25 photos of me in teal. Than it would have been Toni Wears Teal and not about ovarian cancer and many women!! Your awesome!!

spadoni57 @chrissie_marie Thank you for even considering it!! If nothing else we are talking about it. She would have been diagnosed much later if she had not had the c section. The problem is the cancer that was left behind on her diaphragm, bowel & kidney & ureter are growing although slowly. She has been given 2 years maybe three and that was a year 17 months ago. She is fighting for every day to spend time with Gordon so he remembers her other than photos. She wants to walk him to school someday.. she has faith & hope and this will help!! Thank you for anything you do, even talking about it for a sec!!

julia_rose It's so hard for me to look at these images of ppl going through Chemo 😢 Its been 3 years since Cancer took my Mom I see these images everyday & miss her more then words can say. I was just getting through losing my grandma to Cancer when my Mom was diagnosed. I can't imagine what Amanda went thru being a new Mom & being sick.... spadoni57 @chrissie_marie Thank you!! It really is a sad story but man does she ever do a great job being " up" for her son. She was involved in a clinical trial but it was stopped because the " good " chemo was not shrinking tumors. She found out she was getting the placebo anyways. Ot was a blind study combining 2 very powerful cancer drugs but it was ineffective. She is not giving up but she is understanding quality of life right now. Shes the same age as my son.... I can't imagine.. thank you for any gift of teal!!

She is a type A so you can imagine how hard it is because she has no control. She also has been sick since the day Gordon was born. Its tough and so sorry for your losses. julia_rose Thank you I didn't mean the context to be raw.... I'm just hypersensitive to ppl who are sick or hurt I cry at Kleenex commercials! Lol I have a mass on my liver & I've had to liver biopsies & now a mass on my side I just thought was my back & old age! I admire you for supporting your friend I think that quality is admirable. I support all cancers at all ages & all caregivers understanding first hand how difficult it is. My Mom was a hair stylist & towards the end of her battle she cut down to 1 day a week & actually had to pay to go to Work she loved her customers that much. Her friends called me & asked me to make her quit it was to hard for ppl To see her that way. I couldn't take away her passion... I went one day to help Her & on the way home she looked at me & said " I think this is going to be my last day"... It was her decision & I felt better about it.So please know I'm Praying for you , her her family friends & Gordan. I apologize if I didn't express myself properly the 1st time. I believe ppl Need to see the images & faces behind the family's affected by this terrible disease hoping maybe someday someone will find a cure & end all the suffering. Lastly I am A mother of 5. My oldest son was attached to my Mom at the hip, he saved his head for her the day we shaved her head & I think I posted a pic somewhere in my about me section....so the image didn't bother me I'm so sorry that you felt that way

My mom told me she was tired of fighting cancer when she was 84. I told her it was ok... so many stories of courageous women. Im spending time wisely these days!! Your lovely!

ovcasurvivor I am sorry I did not read all the post bc I would be crying. I was dx on my 35th birthday with ovarian cancer. That was one of the lucky ones that it was caught in the early stages. You are a great friend!! Thank you for telling her story and hopefully it will save a life. No one wants to talk about the below the belt cancer and it is the deadliest. Hugs to you for your support of my teal sister! Sending much love and prayers to my teal sister in Canada.

spadoni57 @ovcasurvivor Thank you and the fact you are texting this to me is awesome!! Amanda still has OC but they are keeping it slow with hormone blockers. She got to see her son turn 2 which was not supposed to happen. You are a woman warrior. I can only support in a small way but its a very worthy cause as you know. spadoni57 @kmb42 Good day. Here is a brief breakdown. No phone still, bank waived 2 NSF fees out of 4 which right now places me @ 0. The bundle in Chicago finally got to the buyer last night and the funds were released. The bank said after 8pm tonight it should be in my account but not to try to pay anything to avoid another NSF. Im going to call later tonight to see if it cleared. Its $92 & will cover a bill I have pending. Thats the update.I need my phone
