S. Maw Son & Sons London antique earthenware inhaler/pharmacy bottle c1880
Used for respiratory illnesses, this antique Inhaler was filled with hot water, infusions were sometimes added, and the vapor then inhaled. Popular from the second half on the 19th century, this model is English, but was found in France.
White glazed earthenware with a transfer printed text. On the front, the product name and manufacturers details with instructions for use printed on the rear.
It has the original cork stopper, fitted with one glass tube. The glass tube cork is damaged (please see photos) The inhaler itself is in good condition, crazing to the glaze but no cracks or chips. Solid and an amazing display piece.
Height 8" tall x 6 1/2" wide
