This vintage matchbook cover comes from the iconic Westward Ho Motel & Casino, once a familiar landmark on the Las Vegas Strip at 2900 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Opening in 1963, the Westward Ho was known for its enormous low-rise layout, 1,000 budget-friendly rooms, free-drink promotions, and its long-running “free champagne party” that drew generations of visitors. It operated for more than four decades, remaining one of the last classic motel-style properties on the Strip before closing in 2005 as the corridor shifted toward mega-resorts. The back of the cover also advertises the sister Westward Ho Hotel in Palm Springs, reflecting the brand’s brief expansion into desert resort destinations.
