I love the alpaca metal jewelry that came out of Mexico in the 1970-80 era. The designs were great and the execution very nice as well. Alpaca metal is a mixture of copper, tin, zinc and sometimes nickel made to resemble sterling silver. It polishes like silver to high sheen, develops a nice patina over time and wears like iron. This thin bracelet has a nice hook clasp and measures just 9/16ths inches wide in the front and 1/8th inches in the back. The Inside diameter is 2 1/4th inches side to side and 2 inches front to back. It is slightly oval so that it doesn't roll on the wrist. The bracelet is marked, Mexico, Alpaca on the inside. PLEASE do not bend these bracelets. It breaks the glue seal and you will lose pieces of the gorgeous abalone. The background is a light purple enamel with a white enamel flower and abalone butterflies. This is an easy wearing piece of jewelry perfectly at home with summer fashions.
