Vintage U.S. Military Ceremonial Belt Buckle

This looks like a vintage U.S. military belt buckle, likely from the Civil War era. It features an eagle design with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" inscribed on it, a common feature of military buckles from that time. Belonged to a family member who retired from the US Air Force 25 years ago.
