Vintage Russian Lacquer Box, Signed Hand-Painted Trinket Box, Colorful Floral This lovely vintage Russian Lacquer Trinket Box features a colorful hand painted design of flowers and berries in red, yellow, gold, green and blue on a black background. It is round and has a removeable lid. It is painted black on the inside also. It is completely hand painted, and signed on the bottom by the artist, along with the city and date it was created (the Russian city Sergiyev Posad is written in Cyrillic and the date 1994, and below that the artist mark N.A.). The box is in good vintage condition. It has a few small areas where the lacquer has flaked a bit and has been painted over, mostly on the inside and bottom edge - see photos for condition. It measures about 3.75 inches wide. Sergiyev Posad is one of the ancient Russian cities outside of Moscow. It's part of the Golden Ring cluster of ancient towns and known for the 14th-century Trinity Lavra St. Sergius monastery.
