This beautiful vintage gravy boat was made by J & G Meakin at the historic Eastwood Works in Hanley, England, and dates to approximately 1945–1960. Crafted from durable ironstone china, this piece is a timeless example of mid-century English tableware.
The design features:
Classic paneled ribbing around the body
Gently flared rim and graceful scroll-style handle
Smooth, glossy white finish typical of plain white ironstone
Elegant footed base with molded detailing
While this pattern does not carry a formal name, it closely resembles J&G Meakin’s “Classic White” or “Sterling Colonial” shapes — often produced without an official pattern label and exported in large quantities to North America post-WWII. This makes it a wonderful replacement piece for collectors or an understated, elegant addition to any vintage tablescape.
Marked on the underside with the Royal Arms hallmark and:
