This set is very unique! It is a rare vintage L. Batlin & Son, Inc. example of Majolica pottery featuring a leaping antelope design honey pot/jam jar with vintage Noritake stainless spoon and matching salt and pepper shakers. The honey pot could also be used as a sugar bowl, of course. This is a beautiful set and perfect for those who love art pottery. From my research, Batlin & Son appears to have imported many of its pieces from Japan into New York from the early 1900's through the 1930's/40's or so. Such a charming set of art deco style collectible pottery!
The glaze on all 3 pieces does have crazing, shown in pic 10. One salt shaker has a chip in the antelope's hoof, shown in pic 11. It is not very noticeable when sitting. Overall, very nice condition for its age!
Honey pot measures approximately 5.5" high to the top of the handle x 3.25" wide at the base. Salt and pepper shakers are approx 3" H x 2.5" W x 1.75" D.
