Vintage Chinese cloisonné enamel vase featuring a classic peony and bird motif set against a deep black enamel ground. The design is created using hand-laid wirework filled with richly colored enamels, finished with traditional brass trim at the rim and base. Peonies are a long-standing symbol of wealth, honor, and prosperity in Chinese decorative arts, while birds commonly represent harmony and good fortune. This combination was especially popular in mid–late 20th century Chinese export cloisonné, produced for the decorative arts market and collected today for its craftsmanship and visual appeal. The form, enamel palette, and fully enameled base are consistent with circa 1960s–1980s production.
