Vintage 1990s Huichol Chaquira Beaded Bracelet with Peyote Stitch Design

In Nayarit, Mexico The Huichol people have been making beaded jewelry on looms for centuries if not longer, and often times depicting the peyote plant. Peyote is the soul of their religious culture and a visionary sacrament that opens a pathway to the other deities. This bracelet was brought back from Mexico in the late 1990s and has never been worn.
