Adorable high-neck mini dress with a sleeveless black velvet bodice, a metallic silver trimmed waist, & a ribbed ivory chiffon skirt with a curly lettuce leaf hem. Long back zipper. Very good vintage condition.
Vicky Vaughn was the junior division of R&M Kaufmann (founded 1920's) in Illinois which produced high quality but moderately priced dresses & sleepwear keeping prices low by mass producing garments in their own factories. Their motto was "Only the LOOK is expensive." They used full-page advertisements in Seventeen, Mademoiselle & Charm magazines & live television commercials. The company was sold in 1969.
