Vintage 1950s Crown Staffordshire fine bone china teacup and saucer set was made in England and features the beautiful Rose Pansy pattern. The design is composed of delicate sprays of pink roses, blue forget-me-nots, and purple-yellow pansies scattered around the surface of both the cup and saucer. Each piece is edged in bright gilt trim, showing off the thin translucence of fine English bone china. Together, they make a light, refined set that embodies mid-century English tea service quality.
The Crown Staffordshire mark on the base—“Fine Bone China, Crown, Estd 1801, Staffordshire, England”—dates this set to around the 1940s–1950s. During this period, Crown Staffordshire produced many of its most collectible florals, prized for their hand-applied transfers and balance of vivid color with restraint. The Rose Pansy pattern in particular is known for its scattered garden-spray composition and bright gilt border, evoking cheerful English country gardens. These sets were sold primarily in Britain and exported to North America after World War II, when fine English china was highly sought after for its craftsmanship and postwar optimism.
Condition: very good vintage condition with intact gilding and vibrant floral colors. The china shows no chips or cracks. Minor surface marks or gentle gold wear may be visible under close inspection consistent with age. Please review all photos for full detail.
