sfwhite85 @karmabliss098 Typically the way a trade is done is by both people agreeing on what they'll be trading & then each making a post with pictures & descriptions of the items. Then you both set the listing for $3 and purchase each other's listing. Then you'll get your shipping label printed out & pack it up and send it off. It's normal for people who are just starting out trading to have to ship first and wait until the other person receives theirs before getting your part of the trade shipped out.

sfwhite85 I always stay in touch until the entire transaction is completed, it makes both people feel more secure. As long as everything is as it was described then I ship yours out as soon as I get mine.

sfwhite85 @karmabliss098 Trading is a lot of fun but you do have to be very careful, especially when you're starting out. People will try to take advantage of you knowing you're new. If anything ever feels off, don't do it. Better safe than sorry. Most established traders have "trusted trader" lists of people they've personally traded with and will vouch for.
