Great collectible item unearthed from a closet at my parents house! I had to spend a little time with this one because I was not finding any information about it using English. Once I Google translated how to say "iron" in German (Bügeleisen), then I was able to find several other examples. If you Google "Cloer Reisebügeleisen" you will find them. ("Reise" means travel.) One that looks identical to this one says it is Model #601, but I can't vouch for its accuracy. The era noted is 1950s-1960s.
Photo 2 shows Cloer stamp & 2 settings: 110v & 220v, there is a slider at the top, visible in photo 3 & others, to make your selection, but the slider does not move unless you unscrew the handle, which is easy to do (1 center screw visible in several images). Once you make your selection & screw the handle back on, THEN you plug it in. At first it didn't work until I realized I had the plug in backwards, so if that happens to you, turn the plug around. Takes a little time to heat, but once it gets going, it's great.
Stamps on plug, photos 8-9
Handle is unfortunately cracked on one end, photos 12-13, but with that, you can see it's made of wood, with a lovely enamel-like casing
Measurements are shown in photos 14-15, approx. 6" length & 2.75" width
Case is really lovely & in great condition, made of red suede w/a pretty golden trim & tasseled zipper
