VTG Bakelite & Celluloid Medallion Handle Antique Vintage Furniture Pull

'Tis a mystery indeed. Or maybe not. It has a hole in the back so it may have been a metal shank button, but the size of this round piece is a bit large for a such a small shank. It may have been a drawer/cabinet pull? Again, the hole in back is too small. I'm going with furniture medallion. This unusual piece is Bakelite on the bottom with a molded celluloid rosette on top. (Bakelite cannot be molded...you knew that, right?...not sure? see if you can find my blog post "Bakelite. Get it Right".) This tested positive for Bakelite on the bottom portion. Edwardian era to 30s. Easy to see from the photos that it's cracked, so its uses may be limited but it could make a fun addition to a collage? a brooch?.....or maybe a museum?
