VINTAGE German Räuchermann Wooden Figurine Incense Smoker Christmas Decoration

Vintage "Erzgebirge" German incense smoker, also known as a Räuchermann Wooden Figurine Incense Smoker Christmas Decoration These traditional wooden Räuchermann figurines are a popular Christmas decoration from the Ore Mountains region of Germany. Officially labeled "Erzgebirge" on the bottom of chair. (See photos) The figurine is made of two parts that fit together. An incense cone is placed inside the hollow base, and the top part is placed over it. Suitable for standard incense cones. When the incense cone is lit, the smoke travels up through the figurine and exits through a hole, often the mouth, making it appear as if the figure is smoking. The tradition of German incense smokers dates back to the mid-1800s.
