Unique Vintage Mid Century Hand Carved Wooden ADAM & EVE Before & After BOOKENDS

One-of-a-kind vintage mid century hand-carved Adam & Eve wooden bookends with copper bottoms attached with screws. The wood is heavy & likely a tropical species - each bookend weighs over a pound. The carvings depict the bible story of Adam & Eve eating forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden after being tempted by the 'Serpent of Evil' which is twining up the tree in one of the bookends while Adam eats the fruit. The other bookend shows a contrite Adam & Eve leaving the Garden of Eden after being expelled for their disobedience. The carver had amazing skill! Photographed in natural & very bright lights for comparison. Each bookend is about 5" wide by 6.75" tall by almost an inch thick.
