@chacomom it is black. The iPhone has a hard time when I photograph black items. If you look at the close up photo of the bottom measurement it shows the true color. I can take additional photos for you when we get home if you would like like.

@chacomom I have just replaced photo 8 to show the black with a red background. That helped considerably in the lighting not washing out the black in the photo. I hope this helps a bit.
