The Purple Nightmare Shirt - Tie Dyed 100% cotton camp shirt

This started out as a very ordinary white cotton camp shirt. I fixed that with a couple of layers of Procion dye. If you stare into the depths of this shirt long enough you will probably have purple nightmares. I really don't know what to call the base color. I think it varies from pastel red to a hot, almost red, pink. I'm breaking all sorts of basic rules and beautiful dyes trying to create an illusion of depth. After it was dyed this shirt was washed once in Synthrapol and twice in an unscented detergent formulated for sensitive skin. This will still be a colorful shirt after it has become a rag.
