The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff masterfully intertwines two compelling narratives — one set in the 19th century and the other in the modern day — to explore faith, love, and betrayal within the world of polygamy. The novel follows Ann Eliza Young, the real-life “nineteenth wife” of Brigham Young, who sparks a national scandal by speaking out against plural marriage. Parallel to her story is that of Jordan Scott, a young man cast out of a fundamentalist sect who returns when his mother — also a “nineteenth wife” — is accused of murder. Blending historical detail with gripping mystery, Ebershoff’s novel is a powerful tale of devotion, independence, and the price of truth.
Note: This book is in good condition. You can tell that it has been read and taken care of for the most part. The book opens and closes nicely, the pages have already been broken in and lay nicely. The only real "damage" is in the top left corner of the cover. It looks like it may have gotten bent during transportation at some point in it's life.
