This is the traditional newsboy or eight quarter cap made famous by the period crime drama Peaky Blinders, set in Birmingham immediately following the end of the First World War, this cap has been brought to life for a whole new generation.
The hat industry calls this the 8/4 as they use 8 equally sized triangular panels to make the hat. Here it is made of traditional classic Scottish Harris Tweed Handwoven in Scotland . It is 100% wool nicely lined in a satiny amber beige fabric so it is not scratchy inside even on bald heads! This is a Men's size Medium. According to the Scotland Shop Medium fits 57 - 59cm / 22.5 - 23¼ inches or a hat size 7 - 7¼.
Labeled 100% wool. Dry clean should it require cleaning in the future.
It is new, has never been worn and is a wonderful forest green color mixed with little wool fibers of lighter and darker shades to give it that Harris Tweed soft natural color. This color is called Cheviot Mallard Evergreen. These hats are traditionally worn by all men in Scotland! Lots of girls like to wear them too. They are charming & flattering.
I ordered this for myself online to wear with a sweater I have, but, it is too big for me. I am a small woman with a small head!
I wish it fit me as I love the fabric & the style. The only reason I am selling it is that it doesn't fit me.
These hats retail for $103.29 plus tax and shipping and customs duty. This one has never been worn.
