So in my opinion, they are basically new. I don't drink coffee or tea and have had these stored away for 40 years. My mother bought two sets of dishes and cookware in this pattern. One for her and one for me for my new apartment. I found these cups in a box in the closet and they have been stored like that for most of the time.
