San Francisco Larry Lippold Etching of Polk St House U of I & SF Art Institute This is a good looking etching. Signed by the Artist Larry Lippold on the bottom right corner. Nicely matted and framed. This is a house on Polk street in San Francisco. It has a note on back with the location and states SF Art Institute 1969 and than another note from 2007 when it was given away. With these two notes, I am unsure when it was made. The print measures just over 12" high by 9" across. The frame measures just under 17" x 13". The etching is nicely matted under glass. Frame shows light shelf wear. He is some information on the artist: Larry Lippold received his education at the University of Illinois, the San Francisco Art Institute, and the California State University at Chico. He was preparator for artworks on paper at the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University from 1980 - 2001. He taught drawing at the deYoung Museum Art School, Chico State, and at Stanford. He has offered drawing classes through Stanford’s Continuing Studies Program every year since 1991. He also developed a successful series of drawing classes held at various locations in Europe. He was the recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, among other awards, and has shown his work locally and nationally in solo and group exhibitions.
