SOLD 1/4 on Etsy A Mid Century Fashion Classic! This is the real deal—true vintage, quality cream-colored blonde faux fur. Gorgeous and lustrous. Parkridge Exclusives, 1960s. The interior has a rose-colored lining, finished in tan grossgrain ribbon. Union tag. You can wear it in a range of ways: tilted, atop, pinned in place or not—depending on hair style and look desired. Excellent, clean condition with no flaws to note. SIZE: Since this hat sits perched on or astride the crown of your head rather than pulled down, it is estimated at One Size Fits All (or most) or Medium to Small-Medium (6 7/8 - 7 hat size). It measures just under 8” across (unstretched). Seam to seam at crown (both exterior and interior): 6 11/16”. Note that where this hat sits (diagonal at the crown) my head measures about 1/2” smaller than at middle of forehead. Reminiscent of “It Girls” (women) of the 1960s, including Jackie Kennedy (later Jackie O), Audrey Hepburn and Edie Sedgwick. Background: A pillbox hat has a flat crown, straight, upright sides, and no brim. It is named after the small cylindrical or hexagonal cases that were used for storing or carrying a small number of pills. The pillbox hat gained popularity in the 1930s due to its elegant simplicity.
