Takes 2 AA batteries which I'm including 4 1/2 inches x 2 3/4 inches x 4 1/4 inches including roof and chimney There is no screw to hold the door on the battery compartment so it is not meant for a child to play with unsupervised I believe it to be vintage from the early 1980s or possibly the late 70s Very good pre-owned condition with some light scratches ~ see pictures
