Bring a touch of romantic vintage glamour to any dresser or vanity with this exquisite Rococo-style musical jewelry box and clock.
Crafted in the 1970s and inspired by 18th-century European cabinetry, this richly detailed piece combines deep red faux-lacquer, gold-tone baroque scrollwork, and mirrored doors with floral designs. It is made of some type of plastic? It winds up in the back to play "Fur Elsie" by Beethoven.
Wind it up on the back then open the double doors to reveal a spinning ballerina on a mirrored stage beneath a tiny chandelier fixture (it lights up red!). The interior features red velvet ring slots. It has 7 little drawers that open. Two side doors that open for hanging necklaces as well as a few small compartments for earrings, ect. A working, battery operated clock is inset at the center base, framed by ornate filigree. It even has a second hand. It took a little searching to figure out how to set the clock and where to put the batteries! It may have other little hidden details that I have not found. Came from a local estate sale here in Texas. Other than the door pull that's missing the bottom part, it's in exceptional condition. Will be packed with utmost care for safe travels. 12.5" x 5.25" x 15.75"
