Rare Los Castillo Sterling/Chrysocolla Pitcher. Extremely rare if not one of a kind inlaid sterling/mixed metals copper pitcher. Just enough copper to make it cool. One small double ring at top and the inlaid frog eyes throughout the pitcher. Designed by Chato Castillo I'm the mid 20th century, typically found in copper or a mix of copper and silver plate. This is a masterpiece basically a prototype of what was to come in the last quarter of the 20th century when the same family realized they could sell silverplated items of similar designs for hundreds and even thousands of dollars. I've seen los Castillo silverplated pitchers from the 90's sell for thousands, I've even sold them close to that. It's very difficult to photograph pieces like this, it's incredible in person. There are three very small dents in the bottom half of the pitcher only visible upon very close inspection and could of course be removed if considered a distraction. 9 1/8" tall x 6.5" wide x 708 grams. Again there is nothing "run of the mill" or common about this pitcher. Later, somewhat mass produced silver plated pieces designed by the person who likely made this pitcher's descendants sell for a lot because they are really cool and nice..but this is cooler, nicer, and historically significant to the point of being museum worthy in my opinion.
