Vintage Imperial Glass Rose Pattern Domed Lidded Butter Dish, Purple
This lidded butter dish was made circa 1960s by Imperial Glass and displays a beautiful, rich purple/amethyst base color with blue-gray-silver iridescence and the "open rose" pattern. Imperial Glass Company was founded in 1901 by Captain Edward Muhleman. This piece has a pressed molded intaglio design of that rose on the interior and panels of flowers on the exterior. Some do not carry any maker's stamp; this one carries the IG that was used between 1951 to 1972. Perfect for that elegant setting, and not only good for holding butter, but also a nice presentation for a lovely wedge of cheese.
The bottom portion measures about 7-1/2" in diameter and overall with lid on, the piece is a little over 7" tall.
