Records. Jones had begun playing live in the Los Angeles area at the age of 21, where an artists' showcase performance led to a record deal with Warner Bros. Two of the albums' songs, 'On Saturday Afternoons in 1963' and 'After Hours', were recorded live. The album peaked at #3 on the US Billboard 200 chart and was further promoted by a performance on Saturday Night Live in April 1979, where she performed 'Chuck E.'s in Love' and 'Coolsville.' The lead single 'Chuck E.'s in Love' peaked at #4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. A second single, 'Young Blood', made it into the Top-40 later in the year. The album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and Jones won a Grammy Award for "Best New Artist."
