rjrkbythebay My thoughts: 1. Be POSH COMPLIANT! No perfume, nail polish, anything that requires a plug/batteries. 2. Clear photos, good lighting, no background distractions. 3. SHARE OFTEN! Your closet 3x/day if possible. Share from the main feed and parties. Often you get shares back from sellers who have even more followers than you. 4. Be nice! 5. Converse with other sellers via Share groups & Meet the Posher pages. 6. DO NOT Advertise your closet on other peoples pages. That gets you blocked! 😎 Rachel

Some will support you & some will not! Try not to take it personally! 4) When I mail an item to a customer it is guaranteed to put a smile on their face! The item is wrapped like it's their birthday & I always include a handwritten Thank You card! Some think it's frivolous but it has made me a solid 5⭐️seller! 5) Have fun!😀😘

janimack7 Hi, ℛᎯℂℋℰℒ! Be careful to manage your time. POSH is truly addicting! There is always one more thing to do. Be careful not to get carried away. Give yourself permission not to get obsessed with the newsfeed. After I became a suggested user, my newsfeed exploded! Trying to keep up was futile! But try I did! Being a bit OCD.... forever_chic I love this idea!! My advice...1-sharing your own closet and others is crucial. Many of my sales & purchases have been w/ Posher's I know through share groups & know they really care abt the service they provide! 2-communicate with buyers- even if it is to tell them you were unable to ship the item yet but will the next day. 3- Don't get upset by "lowball" offers-I always counter them and often sell the item at the price I counter- which is very close to its listing price!

forever_chic Also- ! 4- add measurements, info on fabric and wear-just as much detail as you can abt items in your listings, as well S several good clear photos in your listings! Doing measurements up front saves time/ no remeasuring or wastes time answering the question when it's asked. I try to give as much info as I can and respond to questions as soon as I can with the info requested. This has really helped me avoid buyers unhappy w/ an item they receive bc they know exactly what to expect!

I took a break from November to feb and have been moving smoothly... lately it has slowed down a bit. trendyrose_btq Sharing and Following! I've learned that to make followers and to gain shares you NEED to give it back. I've gone through people's followers and just followed them and shared about 5-10 listings in there closet. I've had great success through it!

rjrkbythebay @mbeasley68 😊 My pleasure! The longer I do this, the more I learn! Just today I received my new Dymo label printer which will save me tons of time. No more printer ink, tape, etc. to label my packages. The Dymo 4XL is a thermal label printer - print, PR, stick, done! Ahhhh, so excited to try it. I just mailed my last two packages with labels from my printer, so hopefully all my future sales will get packed up even faster.

rjrkbythebay @mbeasley68 At the beginning I used to forget to tag people so they would never get my messages until they fell upon them somehow later. When I list items, if I take pictures of my measurements and post them, get fewer questions about my items. It takes an extra minute or two but saves me time in pulling the item back out and re-measuring. It never fails when I forget to post measurements someone always asks! I also try to take a photo of the fabric content and the size tag.

rjrkbythebay @mbeasley68 Re bad reviews, it depends. The vast majority give 5-stars if listings are accurate, presented nicely, and shipped quickly. I just sold my 300th listing yesterday and have had 2 “1-Star” reviews, 1 2-Star, 1 3- Star, a few 4’s. You still get paid regardless of the rating and nobody but you can see them. Only one of these warranted a response and I offered for her to return the item which she turned down. Poshmark says no returns for poor fit (frequent reason for low stars)

Those are two huge assets on Posh. If you do Pinterest and or Twitter, link those to your Poshmark account so that it draws new followers to your closet. Some people attach their Facebook account too. I don’t because I prefer keeping them separate.

rjrkbythebay @mbeasley68 I don’t share my closet daily because I work 12 hour shifts at the hospital. On work days Iam lucky to share it once if at all. On days off, I share my closet in pieces. My closet is organized in sections divided by signs, like this listing or random musings or whatever. I share one group at a time. I always share from the bottom up so they stay in order. I do one share group on Sunday nights. It’s great for networking. I did more share groups when I was new and needed followers.

rjrkbythebay @mbeasley68 So is share group is an organized time where a large number of potters get together and share each other’s listings. There’s usually a set number agreed-upon so for instance in my Sunday night share group we share eight of each other’s listings. The person in charge of the group make sure that all closets are compliant with Poshmark’s rules and that they all share as they are supposed to. It gives your closet a much wider audience and usually results in a sale or two for me.

rjrkbythebay Since it looks like you are new to Poshmark, here is some friendly advice (take it or leave it LOL). When you ask a party host to give you a host pick, the most important thing to do is READ their listing! At least 3 of us say “no tagging” in our listing. Each host may want input differently and usually put in their listing. If you’ve never had an HP before, that is important to tell the party host in the comments of their party listing.

dosojosverdes @rjrkbythebay, wonderful comments, Rachel, from you and to you! Lots of good advice. I use my tablet for everything. Can / could / should use the PC? Typing one letter at a time SLOWS ME DOWN on posting... but the tablet takes the photos, which I quickly upload to create the listing ... otherwise it would go from real camera, download to folder in PC, blah blah blah blah

rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes Yes I do 95% of my listings via the smart phone (iPhone). It is my understanding that tablets don’t have as good of a camera as the phones. Are use my phone more often than the laptop, except when I am sharing my whole closet. That is done much more quickly on a laptop.

rjrkbythebay @dosojosverdes - I am moving the conversation here in case anyone else can learn from this situation. In the past, I have had someone buy an item and then come back a few minutes later to say “Can I add an extra item to my order?” Before I knew better, I would cancel the transaction and make them a bundle to then have them say “I changed my mind” and not purchase the bundle at all! That’s why now I make the bundle, tell them to purchase it, THEN I will cancel the other transaction.

rjrkbythebay @Laurensklarski - Tagging you to give you a tip about selling on Poshmark. Your Nike sneakers that you have posted are worth way more than $10! (barring any unrevealed rips/stains) I highly suggest you raise your price, include the full name of the shoe + colorway, size. Google search Nike plus item number and it will give you tons of detail about the shoe and will help you figure out what they truly are worth by searching through sold listings on Poshmark. rjrkbythebay @laurensklarski - I know it sounds counterintuitive to tell you raise your price and they will sell better, but it’s true! On Poshmark, if items are listed two cheap people think there something wrong with them and don’t purchase them. In your case you should list for a minimum of $25 but I actually think maybe more (I have not looked at comps). People will then offer you less, which obviously you could accept at whatever price point you feel comfortable. 😉 Rachel

If those dates happen to fall on a weekend, then they usually get paid the business day prior. That would be TODAY, December 14, a Friday payday. MAKE OFFERS TO LIKERS today! rjrkbythebay #RJRKPOSHTIPS Take your photos against the same background for a consistent and recognizable look. If you take some photos on the carpet, some photos on a wood floor and yet other photos hanging on your closet door it looks haphazard. If the majority of your closets have the same background it makes for a cohesive look which helps your brand.

Create a new listing, change up your photos of the originals we’re not your best. Check that it is in the ideal category. Use the max number of keywords in your title so it is easy to find (brand, description, size, color). Save! Then delete your old listing. You will likely see renewed interest now 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

rjrkbythebay #RJRKPOSHTIP If something in your closet is not selling, be sure your pictures are clear, you are using good keywords in your listing, and you have priced it fairly. If yes to all of these, then I suggest you copy the listing and then delete the old one. You can do this every 60 days and it will show up as a new listing.

joan_moody I really do need a mentor, my issue is that idk where & wht sites to go on to buy worthy stuff for selling name brands, how mny of them, I've bn just selling my own things, someone pls help me? rjrkbythebay @joan_moody There are people that do very well selling make up but that is not some thing I have enough experience in to be a good mentor! If you look through my closet you will see that I sell mainly clothing. I would suggest you search through closets that mostly sell makeup to find a good mentor for that. Also you could check out the Posh and Sip or Posh and coffee offerings. Rachel
