These classic 10-inch sleek modern taper candle holders feature an ornate baluster stem and a wide, stable circular base. Released as part of PartyLite's retired home accents decor collection, they are typically constructed from chrome-plated metal or heavily weighted silver-tone materials designed to hold standard taper candles securely. The PartyLite Chrome Taper Holders (P8629) feature standard-sized candle wells designed to accept vintage PartyLite peglite inserts perfectly. To use a peglite with these holders, the narrow glass "peg" at the bottom of the cup inserts straight down into the taper hole. A snug rubber or plastic grommet is included on the peg to grip the smooth inside walls of the chrome holders firmly, keeping the glass upright and stable. This set includes the retired PartyLite "White Radiance" Peglites, which were sold under the product code P8628. They feature clear, hand-blown glass etched with delicate botanical leaf stems and hand-painted white swirls and dots. They were specifically marketed during their release era alongside the chrome taper holders as a coordinated tabletop set. Because they are relatively oversized for peglites—measuring roughly 5 inches wide across the flared rim and 5½ inches tall—they cast a beautiful, wide-set pattern when backlit by a lit votive or tealight candle. The 4-piece set of two taper holders and two peglites retailed around $60.00 back in the day.
