Good for you! I understand how the introduction of some of these features were based on great intentions, but like all features take a life of their own. Love how offers are binding, which protects sellers, but now people are just being ridiculous. Same as the price drop feature. Would love to hear what hq has to say.

@fccandles I love this post. I'm relatively knew to this but I'm learning and the only offers I make are discount of $5 just to absorb the shipping cost whereas I gladly do the same. I've dropped princely really low for merchandise in fairly knew condition. I have so much that k barely get use out of much so I list it here and only have maybe 1/3 of things listed. Haven't gotten around to listing everything yet. I need to take a POSH day and get it all loaded

Meanwhile someone made an offer of 50% less than list price as if I didn't already darn near mark them down by 50%. Maybe these are just 'buyers' who clearly don't understand what the selling portion involves. Uhm less 20% !!!😩

Love love love this!!! May copy you. I'm screaming for automatic decline on any offer over a certain percentage as established by the seller!!! I spend more time declining offers than I do anything else. I can't even get items listed since my allowed pm time gets consumed by that!!
@moonbunnytoo Offers are def not binding. I negotiated for four hrs only to have the buyer change her mind five hrs later & cancel the sale.

@eburton hi Erinn...so ALL shipments if under 5 lbs are still 4.98, then posh wil charge You the seller 1.99 for 6 lbs and 3.99 for 7. If it weighs more than 5 lbs...then at the end of your sale you'll see the section under 'my sale' 'then I think under inquiry' it will say 'need heavier weight' then you can print the weight you need😉

It would be great if within the Offer feature, they had suggested percentages. Like if an item is listed for $100 - the offer feature could populate amounts to offer like 5%, 7%, 10% off etc. That would make the buyer more aware perhaps. Also, an offer should be binding - you shouldn't be able to negotiate and then back out at whim. How do you get a conference call with PM? I've got an earload for them! ;^) XOX

They need to build additional functionality into the Offer feature most def! So super that you are an influencer! Tell them to get straight with what items are allowed and which aren't! Either they're going to reinforce or they're not - but this wishy washy ness is absurd. Someone can report you for an item that places marks against you when PM allows those items for sale. It's schizophrenic! ;^) XO

Oh Kim, I just got a $50 offer on my brand new $700 Valentino shoes I have listed for $450. Like really??? My favorite is when they try to guilt you "that's all I have and I'm on a budget." Why shop for expensive designer items if on a tight budget? I am with you on how the offer system does not work + is a button that is too frequently abused. I do wish sellers had the option when listing whether they want the Offer feature to be there or not.

😱I have a hard time believing sellers have a positive view on the Offer feature. Also, I find high end items difficult to sell on Posh. I feel as though the offers and negotiations cheapens the site. So many buyers I come across feel such an entitlement for designer items to be given to them for nothing... 😴

Wish Poshmark had never added that Make an Offer feature. People think they're at a yard sale (to be honest, I don't even try to low ball people at yard sales!!). I think it's rude! The offer feature is just ridiculous. Never a sale and a complete waste of time. There are lots of other site...I love Vaunte myself. I also use eBay occasionally ..don't mid a bid if not paying 20%.

If an item is listed for 99 you can guess nobody would make a penny at 30😥 and guess that the buyer paid more than that for it. While offering a lower price is part of the proceeds, 'haggling, garage sales and e baying is not😊. Please be more considerate when making offers...it will go a long way here😍

Would you walk into a store and try to renegotiate the price of an item because you didn't feel like paying that price for it? I clearly state where "make an offer" is acceptable. That's my point! I'm completely fed up with this nonsense. I've declined four offers today - just today, ranging from 30-40% off. One was on an item already marked 🚫NO OFFERS! I know some do mark their items up just to accept a large discount and they seem to sell. What about those of us who mark our items reasonably to begin with! I'm fed up!! I'm almost to the point of accepting, taking the loss, and getting the hell out of here

Whew! Made it through all the comments! Lots of good insight! I just started but already have gotten a couple of low offers and had (what I thought were reasonable counters) either refused or ignored altogether. But the way I look at it, I don't HAVE to sell any of it nor need the money that badly. So if someone doesn't want my offer, fine by me. The items can sit in my closet for a while longer. Also tried to list my stuff at fair prices so we shall see!

When someone hasn't actually purchased a bundle..I believe the button is next to the 'share' button ( especially on the I phone) I accidentally did it myself the other day😁..that's my best guess. And im sure anyone can bundle whether you turn the feature on or not. Just means you don't offer a discount😉

Just this week I had 3 people ask for more photos and then completely ignore me. It's just another reason I chose not to participate. My feeling is lowball offers will never result in a sale :-(

And I read your Nike post. Wow. I might say TO MYSELF " wow this one or that one is asking a lot for what it is" but I would never comment on something in someone's closet. &&&& I've invested so much time posting all my items, great photos, measurements, I respond quickly, price fairly- top 10% of sellers & fast shipper. Then one girl gave me a 2 star review for my "packaging"- when it was a perfectly fine box & the item was perfect. Some of the shippers are kind but most are sadly wanting everything for next to nothing with best service and perfect packaging. Go buy full price from Nordstroms like I do then! Makes me want to post this too!!

Well said! Man I get so irritated /people making such ridiculous offers! I mean are people really that rude & tacky? Its ridiculous that anyone should have to saying anything to anyone about lowballing or have to remind people that Posh takes 20% which is very high, esp since we do all the work! Thank you for this.I've been selling for only a few months on PM. If one more person insults me by offering 90% off of the listed price, of an item that is already 60-70% off what I paid for it (most often new & unworn) I kindly learned to decline & move on. One keeps telling me she only has $5, then writes rude things on my page. I block her & she returns with a new user account. 😂PM should respect those making them $,versus supporting people who insult the system.

I think I figured out a way to solve the "buyers remorse" offer that you accepted problem. I usually will mark my items shipped right away. Normally in part I ship quickly, but I've had someone back out before, and its frustrating...It's worked so far for me. I actually had some ask to cancel after a day, and I told them no. The item was new and perfectly described. I can't help they had buyers remorse. That makes be a bad person I'm sure...😂

i get people not wanting to deal with low ballers but honestly sometimes as a buyer it works. i've seen $100's of dollars come off items because some sellers just want it out their house. Then it gives you a chance to counter offer. Example i've offered 40% of a ladies offer expecting her not to take it but she will respond back offering me 20%. It works a lot of times.

Every now and then I get 3-4$ offers on my makeup items. Obviously I can't go that low because I would literally only make a nickel. 1$ profit is not really worth the extra distance to the post on the way to work. I offer custom bundles to help buyers save since on the normal bundle feature will take the 3$ on EACH ITEM in a bundle! I don't like that at all, it should 3$ on the whole bundle total under 25 😝

@babushkablossom I can explain!😀 I do this. Custom single listing bundles under 25 posh only takes 3$. But on posh bundle feature it takes 3$ FROM EACH ITEM IN THE BUNDLE! Now isn't that a load of phooee! 😝👎So by listing a custom bundle buyers can save more while you get the same amount of profit, and you might even be able to make a couple extra bucks and the buyer will still save more if it's a big bundle.

I've had offers for mine canceled and canceled one my self before, this was how it worked for me. @fccandles the 20% is different I believe. If the bundle is over 30$ or 25$. But I've sold bundles of small items for less than 25 and posh took 3$ from each item in the bundle 😳 so that person paid an extra 3$ on every item in her bundle just in posh fees.

I just sold a more expensive item in my closet to someone (and I wasn't too excited about it because they have 0 listings in their closet or boutique and only follow 40 some people and have 20 some followers.) I have this problem but also unwarranted low rating. You don't know why or able to resolve issue. I had a one star because of lack of description. He did not ask one question before buying and I had everything listed. They were jeans. I mean come on buddy. I work hard to get that crap. And the same 3dollar offer 4 times on Justice pjs. 4. Offeres by same person. I'm taking a page from your book. Block

@fccandles It's a good idea. I get a ton of low ballers and it makes me mad too. A lot of times I decline those, sometimes I counter offer though... Just a lot higher than their offer to get the point across. I'm see how things pan out with MAO for me since I haven't been on here long enough to know. Oh, I've measured etc and one time I got a stalker. I told posh look what you did. She claimed my new top she haggled down to like $9 and got a free gift, was ripped up. She didn't even have the nerve to rip it up so I don't know what her return claim was since it came back to be in perfect condition.

Thank you for this - "trying their luck" is exactly it....recently had a lowball offer on new sandals. I declined. I dropped price on sandals, she came back with same offer. I declined. Seems even if offer has expired & you have said "NO", buyer can come back with SAME $ figure on same thread even tho' you have declined. I posted a new price this w/e & explained now firm because of price drop....& guess what? Same $ offer @ old thread. I just ignored this time but should probably block.

@fccandles Ok! I had an experience last week that made me mad I sold a guy an authentic coach belt for $45 dollars and then when he got it he accused of selling a fake! Which I told him I bought it from a Coach outlet. I just hate that because my rating went down! It makes me not want to sell designer! I also think they should have it to where Buyers can't offer more than 50% off an asking price or to where you can turn the offer button off!

@fccandles ya that was iffy with the belt it even still smelled of leather! I'm sure there are fake Coach out there but I don't think they are all that common! I normally take offers if they are like 5 less sometimes more if I want the item gone. But for the most parts I try to keep my items prices low so I don't have ton of wiggle room!

@fccandles I'm new and glad to have stumbled upon your closet. It's great to learn from you and others here! Didn't realize the various ways one should be careful. People ask me to email/text them. It feels uncomfortable to take the transaction outside even though Posh's 20% can feel like a lot. Question: I try to research what is a fair asking price and wondered if the price shown on sold items is the price paid, or just the original asking price. I want to be fair, but not taken advantage of.

So I responded graciously (actually price was much higher in the size I have which is sold out) and then blocked her because she was rude about it and I sensed trouble. @fccandles Have you heard the standard of 40% off retail for NWT and 60% on non? Most of my items are NWT or NWOT and I usually price lower than the above parameters and account for a little wiggle room. So I price very fairly to start and offering me anything lower than 20% of my asking price is just ridiculous. So I hesitate to price drop b/c folks expect it to keep going down.

And frankly the price I set is based on many factors...as @unvarnished so eloquently stated...if you don’t like my price 😏. When I price my items ...I do a TON of research and can nearly guarantee they won’t find the exact item cheaper. But even if they do...they are welcome to go and buy. We aren’t a thrift, auction or WALMART 🤪 your items are Top Notch!

From choosing what to sell to all the research and time I put into my listings. I need to make a profit and get paid for my time and my investment! I do try to offer price that is a win win for me and the buyer. But absolutely, if you want a bargain basement, buy from one! 😘😘😘

She tried to take a 60% discount after I already offered 20% off. She then tried to belittle me that "its Poshmark" even though I clearly state not to make lowball offers to me. I found this out too. I sold some things for way less just to get started on the site, but I price higher bc people make low offers. Very smart. Btw, do you know any Poshers who have fantastic closets for men? Shopping for him, however, he’s a big guy. He builds so his chest is massive and then he’s a 34-36 in the waist. Take the Rock, make him white & that’s what I have fun dressing. 😂. Shoes... 12-ish. But more like a 46 EU?

Oh - and a user (who I later realized was a man) got me to sniff my shoes and describe the smell. Boy, do I feel dumb on that one 😂 I’m learning... Thank you guys for sharing your wisdom!
