O1 2002 VNTG Bank of England Featuring Queen Elizabeth II

The image shows an old Bank of England £5 note featuring Queen Elizabeth II. This type of note is no longer in circulation. The note is a paper Series E (Pictorial) banknote, which ceased to be legal tender after May 5, 2017. The note features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the front and a portrait of social reformer Elizabeth Fry on the back. Banknotes featuring Queen Elizabeth II are still legal tender and can be used, but new notes with King Charles III are being introduced to replace worn-out ones. Old paper banknotes can be exchanged at the Bank of England.
