For example, one cup in the design is in the form of a modified Greek skyphos, with companion saucer, was made at Sevres in 1794. Elaborately painted and gilded, the rococo scenes of butterflies masquerading as humans were copied from etchings by Charles-Germain de Saint-Aubin (1721-17860.
