Moon Mullins Vintage Salt-Pepper Shaker ~ Bowler Hat - Bakelite? ~ With Flaw A single salt or pepper shaker in clear glass with an interesting checkered finish. Has a brown bowler style hat that is identified as Bakelite by some sources...I can't confirm, but it does have the look of Bakelite. Small rough spot on side brim. Item was originally hand-painted. Most of the paint has worn off, a few faint specks of red along the tie area. *NOTE: There is a chip at the base of the shaker - see last few photos - hard to photograph - see last few pics. > The chip can be felt, but I displayed it in a printer's tray sort of item and did not think it was easily noticed.
