Vintage Italian Ceramic Vase, circa 1960s. This cylindrical vessel with simple lines forms the canvas for a stunning piece of Mid Century Pottery with depth, texture and The Most Gorgeous Blue! The cobalt / royal blue exterior glaze is complemented by a matte black band at the top, white interior glaze and detailed fish depicted on profile on each side. This charming fellow in grey, aqua and white has a chevron pattern across the body. Maker and date unknown, but the base is imprinted on the underside with ITALY and a logo I can’t identify as well as a partially worn paper label. It was handmade in Camogli, a fishing village on the Italian riviera.
SIZE: Measures 4 3/4” tall by 2 1/2” diameter.
CONDITION: Excellent. The vase is free of chips or structural cracks. As a handmade piece, it has some variations in the glaze that can appear like spots as well as some crazing on the interior due to age. See all photos and feel free to ask questions.
