Thank you for your 1 star rating on a brand new pair of shoes and how disappointing the shoes don’t fit you. Fit seems to be an issue for you looking at your other comment. Danskos follow European sizing. According to their official size chart, a 39 is equivalent to an 8.5-9 which you report to be your size. It might be time to be remeasured.
