keepeepup Hello- it is about 4 inches at the bottom. The opening or spread at the top is about 7 inches. If you stuffed the bag you would need to hold it on your wrist or hand because I do not believe the handles would fit on one's shoulder that way - but we do make things work when needed. 🥰
