Hermès is known for equestrian-themed designs. In this playful twist, the design represents “sangles” - equestrian harness belts. The “sangles” are shown casually strewn across horizontal bars. There's great attention to detail, including subtle color differences between the “front” and “back” of the belts. Taken together, the visual result of the composition is a masterful play of line and color. This vibrant scarf was designed by artist Joachim Metz. It is 100% silk with hand-rolled edges that have never been ironed. Dimensions are approximately 34″ square. It has been very lightly used, though there is a pair of very small spots on it - see the photo. Overall, it is in excellent condition. This is one of several scarves I purchased at an estate sale which featured dozens of them. I selected this one based on the design, artist, and condition. If you search for scarves of this design and quality on eBay, you'll regularly find them offered up at $450! This is priced to sell.
