Before becoming famous, Jon B. worked as a songwriter, penning songs for After 7, Michael Jackson, Color Me Badd, the Spice Girls, and others. Jon B. rose to prominence in the mid-1990s after releasing his debut studio album, Bonafide, in 1995. The album included the breakthrough track "Someone to Love," which featured Grammy Award-winning musician Babyface. The album was a commercial success, selling over one million copies and earning platinum certification.
