Yesterday was the hardest choice of my life & I agonized for days but my 20yr old kitty lost motility after a tough fight since December he had been up every night with hypothyroidism & even new rescue kirtty as companion during day did not help so I went to a completely different vet who took over an hour with me for last meal & goodbyes for him to Rest In Peace , my house is so quiet now, ill be joining to support my posh friends lives & share groups as I have been

sunnietrish @pixielife yes the kitten I had just rescued was following him around they are almost identical & the kitten could just knock him over he was so wobbly but they seemed to like each other they had quite a few weeks together❤️

sunnietrish @poshcajuncloset yes it all took a turn the last 2wks & I’ve had maybe 2 hrs sleep each night the medicine didn’t work all the testing I switched vets & this one so kind they let me sit with him he had a tasty meal I think they even put m&m s in it today I went & got flowers & planted them it’s really tough

smcdsmith55 @sunnietrish Absolutely! Our girls 16. Had 10 lb cancer tumor removed a yr ago. Noticed a bump on her head 2 wks ago and found out it’s cancer too. It’s so hard. Follows me around and looks up at me every 2 minutes. Oh I don’t mean to compare but my mother has dementia🤦🏼‍♀️God is really filling up my plate🙏🙏🙏

splendour76 @sunnietrish When we had JoJo put to sleep because he stopped eating, he was running into walls, he was obviously losing so much weight and he just cried at night. I took that to mean he was hurting and I'd never let him suffer like that. He was my dad's "little buddy," they had a routine even and Joey (JoJo) would talk to my dad, it was just so interesting to me.

splendour76 @sunnietrish He would hold down my Posh labels so I couldn't do my job, walk on my laptop then sit so I couldn't do that either, it grew on me as he wanted my attention. My dad painstakingly took him to the vet, whom said he was dying. Dad held him and comforted him as he was put to sleep. The one thing that bothers me to this day is that he didn't get to come home.

splendour76 @sunnietrish We, against city ordinance, have our family pets in the backyard with pretty walking stones, but Joey isn't there. A year later I still cry that he didn't come home. I feel deeply for you, our pets are our family too. And I know it comforted my father that he was able to hold him as he was put to sleep. I'm so sorry about the pain you have about not being there, I'm very sorry I know that hurts. You did what you needed to do love, so rest knowing that he is resting. ❤️❤️❤️

sunnietrish @yourmakeupfairy yes he was yowling & couldn’t get enough food yeet kept loosing weight & he’d been 18 lbs the doctor said huperthyroid it just seemed worse & he followed me everywhere always had but then get up on the bed a few mths ago hed cry by the bed I’d put him up he’d falloff middle of night twice then he wouldn’t go up just stayed on couch but would call out for me then I’d hear him run into walls & he wobbled then started falling over it broke my heart

splendour76 @sunnietrish That's what Joey did and it broke my heart. There was no diagnosis because he was very ill for a few months. The balance issue supposedly can be any number of things. I'm glad they are not hurting and starving anymore. But they are missed.❤️💔❤️

We still have 2 - 17 year old siblings left and it’s so hard to see them struggling with age. Given time you should be able to remember more of the good times which isn’t to say you’ll forget the hard times. lizcbaldini Hey Trish, I just happened to see this and my heart breaks for you and the pain you are enduring for your 20 year old fur baby. I have a cat - Tina that looks just like this one. I almost have a heart attack when she sneezes. We adopted her when my Father-in-law passed. He bottle fed her as a kitten. I grew up as a dog person and now love Tina so much. wrosegold @sunnietrish I am so truly sorry, I2 am brokenhearted;my 20 3/4 year old heart kitty passed in 2021.I’m still weeping,this post triggered it,but I loved him so&maybe he wanted me to see this to tell me he would see me one day again.The ache&void is still here, doing some grief recovery has helped but nothing will ever mend me 100% though time hassomewhat.I nowrescue,TNR, and that can be helpful,also painful sometimes w/very sick strays to euthanize, so I’m Sending your heart a hug right now🐾🌹

wrosegold @sunnietrish yes, kittens are that way, lol… and he’s such a cutie too🤍🖤🐾 get some FEL-I-WAY plug ins for your home and lots of kitty trees, the cords are dangerous so maybe stapling them down is a good idea if you can. I use to have a bunny who’d do the cord thing a lot, I just put tons of salt licks and other chewable bunny approved things down an also stapled cords down lol but it works if you work it! wrosegold @sunnietrish if you also adopt a friend for him it works wonders, I have 11 rt now that I’ve socialized and are in need of forever homes. My heart was too big and bursting so that’s how I ended up with 11, all stray and colony rescues. I’m over my limit as 6 is my tops but I couldn’t abandon them as they were all in bad shape when (half of the 11) they found me! Anyhow, big hugs 🫂🐾🖤🤍
