Hoya started in Japan in 1941 as a manufacturer of top quality optical glass lenses for eyeglasses and cameras. In 1945, they branched out into fine crystal drinkware and decorative pieces like this monumental hand-cut flared vase. The geometric pattern was all done by one master cutter using a diamond-tipped cutting wheel. It measures 12 inches tall by 5.75 inches wide and is in excellent used condition with just one some light scratches on the solid base and a small chip on the rim (see photos).
