Crafted from intricate layers of ruffled nylon mesh, this architectural toque/pillbox style hat delivers beautiful, structural volume without weight. Every looped edge is meticulously trimmed with rows of glossy, cream celluloid/acetate "cello" faux straw. This clever mid-century material is molded into tight, continuous nubby strands that mimic the lustrous look of faux pearl beads, making the hat comfortably featherlight. The interior features the original woven Chapeaux Original label, a tan grosgrain inner ribbon band, and a green thread marker identifying the back positioning. Perfect for vintage collectors, retro style enthusiasts, church events, or a unique alternative bridal look!💕 Condition: Good vintage condition. Structural mesh is crisp, holds dimensional volume, and has not been crushed. The glossy cello faux-straw trim is intact. The two original brown plastic interior hair combs are in place and ready to wear. It has age-related coloration to the inner band, interior and exterior mesh expected with a piece of this era.
