This is a piece of Goofus glass, an early type of pressed glass (late 1800s–early 1900s, mostly 1897–1920s) that was decorated with unfired metallic or colored paint. The paint was applied cold, which is why it often wears or flakes off with time.
• Design: The pattern looks like a floral motif with raised details. Red, gold, and sometimes green were the most common colors used.
• Origin: Most Goofus glass was made in the U.S. by companies like Northwood or Indiana Glass.
This was a family piece and is in good condition with some wear on the bottom. See last photos for close-up views.
