Franciscan Desert Rose production began in 1941 by Gladding McBean and Co. in California. The company operated as Interpace from 1962 until 1979. They were sold to the Wedgwood company in England in 1979 and by 1984 all production ended in the US. The Desert Rose pattern remains one of the bestselling dinnerware lines in US history.
