Eloise Curtis for David Styne Vintage Velvet Dress

Wonderful 1960s velvet shift dress with nehru collar. Dress is a rich, chocolate brown rayon velvet with lining. Black nylon cord trim on collar, sleeves and down buttoned front. Dress unbuttons down to the ninth button; the rest are decorative to the hem. The buttons are three dimensional with inset black rhinestones. No size label but would fit a modern medium to large. Measurements laid flat are 19" armpit to armpit; 19.5" across waist area; 24.5" across bottom hem. The dress falls in a straight fit 38.5". The sleeves are 21.5" length. This designer was known for her mod, upbeat styles for the 25-35 year old woman who didn't want to be dowdy in this age bracket. Ha ha! It's a heavy, well-crafted garment in excellent condition. There aren't any holes, stains or damage to note. It was altered at some point on the underside of upper arms but was done expertly & with skill as it doesn't show when wearing the dress.
