projectzen @lisasmith640 Hey Lisa, The groin area is not ripped, but there is some rippling that can be seen when not stretched due to some stress to the elastic (the last photo shows the detail). When they are worn, however, the rippling isn't noticeable.

projectzen @lisasmith640 Hey Lisa, the pants are 64% cotton, 32% polyester, 4% Lycra. The other stats can be found in the listing description. They're a lightweight jean that is soft with plenty of stretch.
