“Cavalrymen and Prairie Chickens” is a Western wildlife illustration by the artist Bergman, created for the Remington Wildlife Art Collection. The artwork was originally issued as part of Remington Arms Company’s 1976 limited-edition art calendar, “A Gallery of Wildlife Art.” That year, it was also offered as a canvas reproduction, size 20”x16”, promoted as a strictly limited edition and available for order through Calendar Promotions, Inc., with the offer ending March 1, 1976.
The artwork later gained renewed visibility when Remington Arms selected it again for their 200th Anniversary (1816–2016) marketing campaign, where it appeared in official graphics and timeline displays. Today, surviving prints from the 1976 edition are considered collectible examples of vintage Remington advertising art
