CAPTIVATING 1930s' PURPLE STRAW TILT HAT WITH LARGE FABRIC FLOWER, VEIL & STRAP

This beautiful purple straw tilt hat from the 1930's is sure to be a favorite. It consists of a short crown surrounded by a short brim. There is a large fabric flower at the center front plus a veil gathered on top of the brim and the flower. The veils some breaks, and can be removed, still making quite a fashion statement. There is a grosgrain strap attached inside, to keep the hat in aa tilted position. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. No Designer label, but there is a label stating ADJUSTABLE/Consumer Protection label. This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
